We finally got it!

The Cog Photo Annual is in and we have 5 different colors(some more/some less)! Come check it out they look great and are loaded with pictures from all three issues and a lot of never before seen/unpublished pictures taken by many of the Cog contributors. They cost $30 but are very nice hardbound photo books…easily worth it! Great late Christmas presents!

Bigger images…HERE!

Also in the news, congressional cyclists…

Click on the image below to read the New York Times’ article on the impact of cycling on the national agenda.

Copenhagen wants interactive cyclists…

When I was in Denmark 10 years ago, Copenhagen’s rental fleet of bicycles had wheel covers with Pepsi logos on them, and riding them through the city at all hours of the night is one of my fondest memories! Like ‘Velib‘ in Paris, there were stations throughout the city center where you could pick up and return these bikes 24 hours a day.  (Below is an example of one of Copenhagen’s rental bikes.  You can read more about them here, the city bike page, or here, eurocheapo.)

Well, M.I.T. (Massachussetts Institute of Technology) is working to set up a live-time route network in Copenhagen using SmartBiking…  With MIT’s wheel/computer system, cyclists will be able to interact with other folks along their route, and there is even a Facebook application.  Check out MIT’s news blurb here or you can read the GOOD Blog here.  (Note: the GOOD Blog as some other interesting cycling-related articles, too – from helmet studies and bike lane failure to Ghost Bikes and Santa Monica’s own Crimanimalz…)
