Hey Kids! Want to get into Track Racing?

Did you know that the ADT Event Center Velodrome in Carson has ongoing FREE track racing classes for kids (ages 7-15). They even provide bicycles and helmets!

If you’re older than 15 you can sign up for the Intro to Track Cycling classes which is a great way to learn the rules and get a feel for riding on the velodrome.  A new session series starts this Sun!

Whether kid or adult, all classes are taught by Certified Expert USA Cycling Coaches.

Why don’t we sell our stuff on ebay…?

Apparently you can now buy street cred on ebay for only $7 plus s+h! Screw years of experience – that’s for suckas! I’ll be waiting at home for my cred to come in the mail while y’all chumps are out there pounding the streets. Click on the image or description to see the actual item…

‘I have too much street-cred and need to make a little extra cash. This is
a great opportunity for anyone just starting out in the messenger world
that doesn’t really know how to fit in, or what city is the most
hard-core. You will be able to tell people that we are bros, that you
are down with real-life bike messengers, that you have totally partied
with us, and be able to boast wild stories of how gnarly a ride was. I
will even include spoke-cards and descriptions of races so that you can
tell wild stories about being there, broken toe straps, well worn raceing
shirt, waterproof socks friend invite on myspace and a broken
frame(raleigh team frame that has been mashed way to hard) This will
undoubtedly help you build even more street cred! Happy bidding and let
me know if you have any questions about my cred’

Submit!

Submit your bicycle movie to The Ninth Annual Bicycle Film Festival!

The Bicycle Film Festival is a 16 city, world wide celebration of bicycles through film, art and music.

This is a call for submissions to all creative people – MAKE A BIKE MOVIE!!! (Or finish the one you’re working on!!!)

Submissions DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MARCH 7, 2009.

Check out the website (www.bicyclefilmfestival.com) where you can look over past programs and watch the trailers to see what they have screened in the past.

Films shorter than 10 minutes are easier to program for the shorts programs.

But they will screen a really good movie no matter how long it is.

LA has contributed some incredible films in the past and we’d love to see some good LA films get screened worldwide again!

Track Bike Finger Toys, er I mean ‘Build-Up’ Models.

Yes. It has come to this.  Love ‘em or hate ‘em, there is something amazing about this tiny ‘build-up’ model track bike by Pedal Mafia. It has movable parts, different wheel sets and matching tires and chains.  Build your dream bike at 1/9 scale.  Freakin’ adorable.

Give it a couple more years and maybe they’ll make Freak Bike ‘Build-Up’ Models too.
