The city of Long Beach is giving us a booth at the Amgen Tour of California Bike and Family Festival February 24, 2007. We have arranged a pro flatland Jam featuring Chad Jonston, Pete Brandt and Day Smith. We also got the city to throw a skid competition and a track stand competition on the same day. The city of Long Beach and Park Tools is looking for participants in the “Fastest Wrench” competition. I have sign up sheets at the shop, or I can fax you one. There was supposed to be an alley cat race in the works, but the city didn’t get behind that. Right now I am trying to get them to throw a gold sprint competition. Jim is recovering from an accident last October. Thank you to everyone who has been by the shop to wish him a speedy recovery. Your appreciation and support makes everything worthwhile. This Friday Jan 26th there will be a small art opening at our shop for a Food not Bombs benefit. The show is entitled Monsters with Bicycles. You will need to sign a waiver before riding the trike or the unicycle.
